Thanksgiving Decor Ideas

This is my favorite time of the year! Since I was a kid I always get very excited about the Holidays, especially Christmas.

When I moved from Brazil to the USA and found out about Thanksgiving, I fell in love at the very first moment as it felt like the “opening” of the Holidays season for me.

This year will be the third time we’ll host Thanksgiving at our place and in this post I’ll share some simple and affordable decor ideas to bring that cozy Fall vibe to your gathering.

Where the food is

Besides all the Thanksgiving meaning, we all need to agree the star of this holiday is the food (or should I say the turkey?). With that in mind, my suggestion is to focus on the decor of your gathering in the place where the food will be served.

The picture above is from the Thanksgiving we hosted last year at our place. In our case, we use to make potluck, where each guest brings something to share (here you can find some tips on how to organize a Potluck party). If you are thinking about a more intimate gathering, it’s possible to adapt my suggestions and add the dining dishes such as plates as well.

To organize the food, my suggestion is to start by centralizing the turkey (or chicken) in the table and arrange the other serving dishes around it.

And below you can find the link for the decor items I used last year.

I would also suggest a green table cloth which will highlight the fall colors.

And do not forget to decorate the turkey! In the picture below you can see more details:we used fruits (like apple, lemon, orange) and some fresh seasonings such as rosemary.

Other ideas

If you want to go beyond, I would suggest decorating the living room or even having some decor items in the entryway.

I really love these “thanks” letters

And, candles are an amazing option as well – and they smell so good! Take a look at this option: Harvest Spice Scent Collection.

I hope those ideas make your Thanksgiving even more special with the people you love. I can’t wait to start organizing ours. Let me know if you also love this time of the year by leaving a comment.
