Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 8th, and – like all the other days – this is a special opportunity to show all your love for your mom and spend a good time together! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to be close to my mom as she is still living in Brazil so, if you have the opportunity to celebrate this day with yours, don’t miss it!
If you, like me, live in the Seattle area, I’m sharing some cool ideas you can plan to do with your mom this weekend. Check it out!
Mother’s Day Weekend Train Rides
Wouldn’t it be a unique experience enjoying a scenic train ride and view of the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls?
When: Sat – Sun, May 7-8 (departures between 10:30am and 2:30pm)
Where: Snoqualmie or North Bend
Cost: $15-$30
Mom’s Free at Museum of Flight
All moms that are accompanied by their children have free museum admission on Mother’s Day. This is a great opportunity to visit this place if you have never been there.

Where: Museum of Flight – Tukwila
Cost: Free for mom, $17 – $25 for others
Mother’s Day Magic Show with Jeff Evans
This one would be my choice for sure if I had the chance to celebrate this day with my mom. It’s a great opportunity to have a magical time with your mom and also get to know a popular local magician while enjoying a tea party!
When: Sunday, May 8 (1 – 2:30pm or 4 – 5:30pm)
Where: Ocean5, Gig Harbor
Cost: $40 for adults, $20 for kids
Mother’s Day Improv Comedy Show
Good laugh is always welcome in any kind of celebration! This is an opportunity to remember all the joys (and horrors) of parenthood.
When: Sunday, May 8 from 7 to 8:15pm
Where: Seattle
Cost: $20 (use the cod “IMAMOM” and get $5 off)
Celebrate by knowing new local vendors and eating from food trucks. You can even find a last-minute Mother’s gift there!
When: Saturday, May 7 from 10am to 5pm
Where: Edmonds
Cost: Free entry, items for purchase
I hope at least one of these ideas makes you excited about celebrating this day with one of the most important people in our lives. Happy Mother’s Day!
