Ideas for Your Anniversary Celebrations

Last weekend was my 6-year anniversary. My husband and I don’t usually celebrate it – especially now that we have a toddler. Last year, for our 5-year milestone, we gave each other thematic gifts. But this year, we just acknowledged it and moved on. But I’ve been thinking we should do a better job of honoring such an important day in our lives.

Putting some effort into making that memory important can be a good opportunity to reconnect and strengthen our relationship even more. With that in mind, I went looking for some ideas to make an anniversary celebration dinner for two even more special, which I’ll share with you in this post.

Cake

You don’t necessarily need to throw a party with guests to order a pretty and delicious cake. Cakes may be a very obvious and classical way of celebrating anything but it doesn’t take away from their significance. In fact, its a confirmation. Traditions aren’t traditions for nothing.

Look at how clean and delicate this decoration is.
I love the idea of reminding ourselves of how many days we’ve been together in this journey.

Engraved accessories

You can certainly elevate the dinner experience by having a pair of engraved wine glasses or a gorgeous engraved cheese board. They can even double as a gift!

Location

Another way of making your anniversary dinner special is to take it to a different place like a picnic in the living room or in the backyard.

Activities

And why not take the time to be present and really enjoy your time with your significant other by working on strengthening your bond. These card games can be great conversation starters to take your minds off of the everyday problems and really focus on our partners.

Why not a party?

Last but not least, if you’re celebrating a huge milestone or any milestone for that matter, why not have your friends and family over to celebrate with you? In this case, invest in decorations that will remind everyone why they’re there: to celebrate the love you and your partner share with each other.

If you’re hosting a party to celebrate someone else’s anniversary, consider using pictures to remind guests of how the honored couple grew together.
A simple outside dinner for loved ones can be a lovely idea.
For a mini-celebration, what about this champagne and dessert bar? Such an amazing idea!!
