One week until Valentine’s Day and it’s time to start deciding how to celebrate it! In this post, I’ll be sharing some ideas for planning a party at home, which you can put into practice no matter if it’ll be just you and your chosen one or if you’re thinking about inviting your friends and/or family.
If you live in Seattle, you can find some recommendations in the second part of the post in case you want to go out to celebrate!
At Home
Dinner
I would say a dinner party is a classic option for celebrating this occasion. A good and easy-to-execute menu is a fondue as it’s easy to find the appropriate cheese blend at a supermarket and you can have bread and cooked vegetables as side dishes.
For dessert, chocolate fondue with fruits and marshmallows or, if you want to vary, you can make S’mores.
Preparing a cheese board to start is also a good idea! Here you can find Carol’s valuable tips to make the best one!
Game Night
This is a fun option, especially if you’re having many friends coming to your party. You can have a mix of game types, such as cards (Uno, Exploding Kittens) and board games (Monopoly, Game of Life).
In this post Carol suggests some games to play with your partner if you’re celebrating just both of you.
When planning which games to play, make sure to check the number of guests so that everyone can play.
Movie Night
What about setting up a Movie Night at home? This is a great opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s in a non-traditional way.
Here are some movie’s suggestions:

- The Notebook
- 50 First Dates
- Pretty Woman
- Casablanca
Options in the Seattle Area
If you, like me, live in the Seattle area and are looking for somewhere nice to go out for the celebration, below are some ideas I believe are worth it.
Even though it sounds weird talking about picnics in Winter, the Picnic Party Seattle team will set up a cozy place for you to celebrate Valentine’s day. They offer both a private indoor venue or a bubble option. The price of a Bubble Date Night is $225 and it includes Rugs/blankets, pillows, lanterns, goblets, ice bucket, small letter board with custom message, table scape design & place setting for two, bluetooth speaker, Theo chocolate, sparkling water.
You can book your picnic for Valentine’s day here.
What about having dinner in a private gondola of the Seattle Great Wheel? Sounds amazing, huh? The price is $152.50 per ticket and you can book it here.
Restaurants
Having dinner in a good restaurant is always a good idea to celebrate valentine’s and spend a good time with who you love. Here are some of my favorite ones.
I hope this post inspires you to celebrate Valentine’s day with the people you love and make your world a better place 🙂
